MADISON-CITY OF DRIVING DISASTERS

Madison is a city choking on the fumes of all the automobile drivers who have no choice but to be on its congested streets in order to do business and who find themselves:

·     Sitting at endless red lights

·     Having near misses with arrogant bicyclists and pedestrians,

·     Swerving to avoid the latest configuration the god of construction has put to trip them up

·     Taking back roads to avoid the latest in the calamity that is streets closed with no thought about quality of life for residents nor transport

The powers-that-be have erected:

·     Non-intuitive rotaries that go against the rules of the road

·     Speed bumps that make nothing safer, especially once the hapless late driver is able to finally speed up again, and whose road rage quotient can only get stronger as time goes on. 

·     Fewer parking garages so that people are forced to drive blocks from where they are going to park their cars, handicapped folks notwithstanding.

There are just so many reasons why we should NOT go the way of Europe considering her tanked economy and her lines of people waiting endlessly for what they need.  Wake up Madison, before it’s too late!
